Living in the jungle is met by super hot humid days, and days of tropical rain.  It ended up being a challenge for me to live out here with the weather and the bug bites! But in the midst of torrential downpour rain, I finally was able to achieve my childhood dream! Dancing in the rain!

When the rain poured hard, Maggie lead by her free spirit attitude, went out into the rain.  Followed by Oscar and Jezie, they were out there dancing and having fun.  I was on the fence about it thinking about how I am going to deal with being wet after, and how to dry off. But then I realized I’ve always lived this way worrying about the future.  This time I want to have some freedom and live in the moment!

So I ran out there with whatever I was wearing and joined them! It was one of the most freeing moments that I had!  Embracing the cool rain drops in the hot humid jungle weather was so refreshing!  We threw on some music and danced around.  We rolled around in the rain puddles and made Rain Angels! (Snow angels but in the rain!).  It brought me so much joy to live in the moment and experience tropic rain in a whole new way!

At the very end, when the others went to go dry off, I took some time to spend with God. I sat down cross legged and got into my usual mindful meditation pose and started to quiet my mind and heart.  Feeling the drops of rain, meditating on scriptures that I’ve memorized, and talking with Him, was so beautiful.  To bask in Gods creation and experience his presence in a new way was a great reminder to always live in the present.  Many times, we are lost in what will happen or what has happened that we forget what we have right in front of us!  Jesus says not to be anxious of other things but be in the present!

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
