Leaving Romania was so hard after such an amazing month, but I soon realized that Moldova would give me so much more. Not materialistically, but in a different way. The reason I signed up for the World Race was to serve God, spread the gospel, and experience living like other people around the world. I wanted to see people through God's eyes. This month has already started off so great and it is only day 4.
I am living on the local church farm with 2 of my squadmates and 2 orphan kids that the church has. I think overall they have about 15 orphans in their shelter. The church was formed through the Pastors vision called Sinai 30. He had a vision from God to plant 30 churches in 30 years throughout this valley. They church survives by support raised from partners, the children sewing and selling clothes, and the animals and vegetables raised on the farm. I am so glad to be able to help this church out by serving and doing ministry with them.
The two kids I live with have humbled me so much. They wake up at about 6 every morning to feed the animals and take care of the farm. They have so much responsibility and knowledge. They also keep us warm by the great fires they start for us. Romania had me spoiled with a bed, nice bed, and bathroom. This month I have a mattress, an outhouse, and no internet. I am glad it came in month 2 to get me used to it. Life is not about being comfortable. God has given me everything I need to live and I am just living for him.
We start the mornings with breakfast and then prayer for an hour. After prayer and worship we go out for manual labor until lunch. After lunch we do ministry and different programs until dinner. After dinner is team time and then bed. We have services on Sundays and Wednesdays. My only day off is monday.
This month is full of many new things and experiences as every month will be. For the first time in my life I am sporting a mohawk. I am in 30 degree weather with no winter clothes. I only have a couple pants and a light windbreaker. Most of my clothes are getting too big and rurnt, by the way I also threw some in the fire last night. Who cares right? I'm on the most incredible adventure in my life and the Lord provides. I also do not have a sleeping bag. Our first sunday service was yesterday and I got called up to preach! I was not warned and it caught me off guard; however, my God is always near so it went great!
Sorry this blog is so scattered, but I just wanted to update everyone. I will have more blogs prepared next monday when I have internet. Until then may God bless you all!
