Over the past week and a half the Lord has presented my squad with the rare occurrence of meeting up with another World Race squad. We all traveled to the Capital City of Chisinau, Moldova to welcome U-Squad into their last month on the field. Yes I do love you all, but the U I was referring to in the title is U Squad. Anyway what took place over the next two days blew my mind. Most of our time was just spent meeting one another and pouring out encouragement upon one another. Sunday we got to go out to lunch with the team Radiant Change. We got to share stories and just listen to what God was doing and has done in their lives. Basically we just loved on each other. Sunday night we enjoyed a worship session together. People from both squads lead worship and as people had a word from the Lord they would stand up and share. It was so good just to be able to worship with so many people in one place that was foreign to us all. I’m positive that the Hostel we were in will never be the same. I’m pretty sure it has never experienced praises like that. That night I reached a level of worship that I had never before been on. I’m not even sure how I reached it, but it was so good. I also had 3 people pray with me and give me strong words from the Lord.
Monday as we prepared to leave we received another blessing. The team that we ate lunch with on Sunday was sent to live with us for 10 days! It has been so good to work with them this past week. They have shared so many experiences with us that have pumped us up and we have been able to give them encouragement as they leave the field and return home. Since being here they found out that their other contact fell through so they will be here with us the whole time! For about 4 days this past week I battled a bacteria of some sort and was not able to work much. During these couple of days I got to sit around and share my testimony with them. It was amazing just to have them to pour into me. HOWEVER the Lord has healed me and released me from this sickness.
If you can’t tell life is great here in Moldova. I love every minute of it. Over this month God has broken me from being shy. Since God instilled in me a passion to speak I haven’t been afraid to speak in front of crowds, but I have often found myself shy in front of tons of new people. I believe that I have missed many opportunities due to this, but God has called me up and out of that this month. He has taught me to be confident in him and be more outgoing. It has opened up a whole new world of opportunities. To be able to speak to people before warming up to them was foreign to me, but now its not. Since being freed of this I have both given and received encouragement from total strangers. God is awesome!
There has been no communication this month, but that’s not a problem because you all now know how I am doing. I am also on day 8 without a shower and have worn only two outfits this past week. The good thing is that I may be taking a shower on our day off tomorrow and when the ice falls off the clothes I just washed I will have something else to wear!
PS: A week from Tuesday we head out for month 3 in Nepal!
