Wow I can believe our time here in Swaziland is already coming to an end it feels like yesterday we were just arriving. Our month here has been amazing and full of growth. The team is doing great…I'm happy to say that Team Pharos finally had our first fight! It was pretty intense, 2 of my teamates went head to head and tears were shed but by the end of it hugs were being shared. This month, ministry has been very interesting none of us were expecting to go from patient to patient praying and simply sharing a smile that would make all the difference! The power of Love is so MASSIVE! I sat down with my team during Team Time and asked what would you say if someone asked you to summarize your life in one word? What word would you want to be known for? As we prayed a thought for a second everyone shared. All the words characterized Christ. Thats what I want to be known by, a life that resembles Christ. I once heard a man say when I get to heaven I dont want to arrive and simply have my named checked off on a list….when God calls me home I want Him to be waiting for me and when I arrive have open arms to embrace me with….and not just with a hug…a massive bear hug…that sounds awesome! Wouldnt you want the same? what are you doing right now? Are you just another name on a list or is there a bear hug waiting for you in heaven? God has laid alot on my heart this month for my team and it is great to put the things into action that I learned from the Leaders Retreat. It hasn't been easy but when it works it works! Our Team has discussed spiritual gifts and principals that I never even knew about. We have started a bible study in the book of Romans and are planning to do a chapter a week to really dive in and see what God is trying to say. Its awesome to be apart of this unque and special group. Jason, Jon, and I also had the opportunity of running a 21K race hence the blog title. This was 80% uphill…needless to say without training for this half marathon I immediately regretted the decision to start the treck. Physically this month has put a mark on my body…literally the sunburn was miserable. None the less stories from the race are beginning to pile up! Many stories I can hopefully someday share with you.
We will begin ministry this month on my birthday in 4 days. We will have the opportunity to serve in a drug rehab center/home in Cape Town South Africa! I have begun the contact process with our host and when I slowly find things out I will do the best I can to inform you!
