So tomorrow is Valentine's Day, & I can't say I'm a big fan of it; why only one day a year to show the person you love how much you love them? I think that should be everyday! There's just something about Valentine's Day that makes it feel forced & ungenuine (in my opinion). I also think it's more special when you have a day that is special between the two of you & not just a day everyone celebrates. And if your single it often makes you feel sad if you don't have anyone to call your "Valentine."
God is love. "We love because He first loved us" 1 John 4:19
I am in awe when I think about how much God loves me. To really sit and ponder the depth of His love is absolutely mind blowing. I think whether one is single or in a relationship, we all have a reason to celebrate "the day of love," – because our Creator is love & His love for us goes so much deeper than any love another human can ever give us. What a perfect reason to celebrate love – to celebrate the author & creator of love Himself. To praise & thank Him for the gift of love.

Being a person who is in a relationship, it makes me want to thank God even more for blessing my life with a great godly man. Seriously, Dan is the sweetest, most loving, sensitive (but not too sensitive), & patient guy I have ever met & because God brought him into my life it reminds me how much God loves me & continues to bless me even beyond what I think I deserve. The fact that I have someone so special to be such a huge part of my life shows me how much God loves me, which in return makes me want to thank & acknowledge Him for the gift of love. Because it is a gift we did nothing to deserve it.
The point of me writing this is to celebrate God's love & the many blessings He has given me in my life. I want the focus of "the day of love" to be the one who is love & who freely gives love. I want to make this Valentine's Day a day where I can thank & praise God for blessing me & I can intake more of His deep satisfying love.
Just an encouragement for those who are single & who dread this day because it is always so focused on relationships & lovey dovey things, know that you too have a reason to celebrate "love"- God is the definition of love & there is no better way to spend this day than to thank & praise Him for loving us unconditionally! God knows your heart & your desires, know that He hasn't forgotten you, everything happens in His perfect timing!
So Valentine's Day is a day every year that whether we try to avoid it or whether we embrace it, it happens. I encourage you, if your in a relationship or single to embrace it as a day to thank & praise the one who is Love.
