last Wednesday we held our first fundraiser…it had been a long day at work, I went straight to TCBY to man the table. Wayne started setting up for the band, I quick-fast drove home to print out a sign (thankfully we live about 2 miles away) – almost as soon as I got back Wayne quick-fast ran home to get another forgotten thing. (Good thing this doesn’t technically start until 6:30!)
6:00 rolled around and a few people walked in, asking “where everyone was?!” – phew, glad they were thinking the same thing I was! We need people to show up for this to work!
this was the plan: Wayne was playing with his band for about 2 hours to entertain people, I was inside selling Threads of Hope and 10% of all the ice-cream people bought went to support us!
out of nowhere 6:30 rolled around and the floodgates opened! The Lord is so faithful! There were more people than I imagined, and they were more generous than we could have ever expected!
I don’t know if thank you can express our feelings after this night. We are SO grateful, SO blessed, and SO thankful, both for your generosity and for the Lord confirming that this is indeed His will for our life, and what is really happening. I can’t even believe it sometimes, that we are embarking on this mission, but I am SO ready to be right smack dab in the center of God’s will, and I am so eager to bring you along with us in the journey, and to make a difference right here and now while we are preparing to go.
so, from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU, we can’t wait to share the rest of this journey with you! Matthew 28:19-20
