Malawi was by far one of my favorite months on the race. We had an amazing opportunity there to help equip the church to shine into its community through so many different ways. We had the blessed opportunity to go evangelize with many of the local church leaders there and saw many people come to Christ. We had the chance to teach the Word of God so many times. And we were blessed to host leadership seminars and a conference at the end of the month for the pastors of the area. It was amazing and I greatly miss being there. Lord willing I will have the opportunity to go back one day and continue to partner with Harvesters there.
One of the greatest crisis the local church is facing in Malawi is the lack of Bibles. In most of the churches, the pastor is the only one who has a Bible. Back home, so many families have collections of Bibles. Yet in Malawi this is not the case. Most people are not able to study the Word of God because they have no access to the Word of God which can create huge problems when witch doctors try to influence the culture with vodo. These people need to know truth and to be able to stand in truth.
Our squad has decided to take up a fund raising project to try to provide the Word of God for the people of Malawi and we need your help in it. If you feel the Holy Spirit moving and stirring inside you, please be obedient to Him and help this cause. Every little bit counts. The Bibles that we were already able to provide for them cost about $11 and if they get enough money together they can get the Bibles from South Africa and pay less, but then transportation cost would come into play.
PLEASE take some time and pray and ask the Lord how He would lead you to help, whether it be through prayer or through financial giving.
