God has been moving here in Nicaragua like crazy. We have had a chance to take part in many youth outreaches thus far which have all gone so well. Yet New Song has been having a great amount of difficulty within their women’s ministry. The girls who come to the ministry are facing a great amount of conflict and not dealing with it in accordance with God’s Biblical plan for resolving conflict as it is laid out in Matthew 18. Conflict and petty fighting is a very common issue amount all the people of this area.
Tommy and Linda wanted to find a way to bring the girls of this area back under one roof with a common purpose all the while reaching out to serve and love the community. And thus the Day of Beauty was born. Our girls spent the entire day loving on the women of this area, washing their feet, massaging their backs, painting their nails, cutting their hair, dancing with them, and Tommy delivered an amazing message on having a beautiful heart before the Lord. It was amazing to watch the Lord work through so many people serving and caring for people who are not used to being loved much at all. We saw many hearts softened and the Lord move in a powerful way.
