WORLD RACE FUSION 2017 is not a race!!! World Race is nothing like the Amazing Race, Survivor or any other adventure like TV show. I know the name is a little deceiving. According to the Mission of World Race, “Every day on the World Race looks a little different. Some days will be packed full with construction, VBS, building relationships with orphans, or praying for the sick at a hospital. Some days could be slower — shopping for groceries at the market, cooking for your team, and spending time praying for the community you walk through. Regardless of the pace or the activity, every day will be focused on being a part of God’s kingdom work.” Dr. David Busic was quoted at the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Conference to say, “The church is a long term mission trip. Do not diminish the service and relationship building in your local community.” I am leaving to GO on World Race in January but that is not when missional living begins.

When I was at the Nazarene Compassionate Ministry Conference I met several brothers and sisters from around the world – it was incredible. One conversation that was totally an appointment from the Lord was with a Missionary Kid I met who was about my age. My dear friend Katie Reed introduced us. Thanks Katie!! We had an instant connection. I asked, where her parents lived and about the ministry the Lord was doing through them. She said her parents were creative access missionaries in Malaysia and the work was hard and slow going until a few years ago. I asked, what changed? She continued by sharing that a few years ago her parents began to partner with an organization called World Race and through the support and help of the teams transformation had come to their ministry in Malaysia. Hearing this I was overjoyed. Not only because of her testimony to the Lord’s provision and power but because she did not know that I am preparing to go on World Race and Malaysia is one of my countries. After further sharing we rejoiced and prayed together. Thanking the Lord for His goodness.

In a workshop at the Nazarene Compassionate Ministry Conference Jay Sunberg said, “The church has a responsibility separate from a knowing a solution.” We are called to be missional people. Thank you for all of your prayers, financial donations and advice. Your obedience has revealed the Lord’s power. World Race would not be possible without the Church; you. Regardless if I meet her family in Malaysia, her story encouraged my spirit and affirmed again that this is what the Lord has called me to do. This story also reminds me that our life (24/7) is to be lived for the Lord; it is missional. And it testifies to the Church (not a specific denomination or group) working together, bringing gifts and resources to the table, willingly serving each other in the name of Jesus. If you are praying for me THANK YOU but do not pray in silence. Please let me know. I would love to share more specifically with you where I am at and your commitment would encourage me to keep going. If you have resources please help me meet my fundraising goals! To sponsor me for a day it is only $30 or for a week $210! Any contribution is appreciated more than you will ever know! Consider partnering with me today – to spread the gospel and be a part of building the kingdom! Much Love to you all.
