//Week #3//
Our second week in Bihar Dar we moved to a hostel right off the main road. Our time here was precious because the Lord continued to work on our team and each day was a new adventure with the Lord. Giving chocolate to street kids telling them Jesus Christ loves them to praying for healing in those hunched over on the street corners. Every day had surprises and challenges.
This time opens my eyes more fully to the culture of northern Ethiopia and the hardships they face. Gondor and Bihar Dar were two cities in northern Ethiopia that had significant political and religious unrest last fall. Many people died and many missionaries and foreign aid fled. While walking the streets it was evident the great impact the recent tragedy had on the community.
We still spent a lot of time with the Ireland family. Celebrating and partnering with them but also had free time to walk the streets. Street ministry is one of the most powerful things. Because you are completely dependent on the Lord and wherever you are in the world you can do this. Even though it may look different in Africa than in the USA the Lord’s power and presence never changes. I enjoyed spontaneous lunches and Christ centered conversations with people that crossed my path. There was a street boy in particular name Yiekal who I met at a Fanta give away. He never asked for money or anything – just wanted to learn English. Through conversations we got to share the gospel with this Orthodox family who had never heard of the freedom offered by Jesus Christ. The Lord is never done with His people and His kingdom continues to grow!
LIVES are being transformed by the hope of the Gospel! I am STILL FUNDRAISING! If you want to be a part of this kingdom work scroll up and click on DONATE!
“All nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name.”
