To debrief what happened Saturday and Sunday. Saturday we went to a church youth group. We partially led worship with the leadership. They had a couple Spanish songs and we had a couple English. My teammates had a game to play with the youth. Then they taught a small lesson. I believe on Amor (love).
This Sunday morning, we went to that same church for Sunday service. It was good even if I don’t know what the sermon was on.
Then as a team (Team Habaneros and Team Zeal together) we went to worship in the park. The first park Forrest played the guitar and I almost was paid 50cents. I had to refuse and because of my lack of Spanish, I couldn’t explain what we were up to.
After a while we decided that we wanted a smaller more intimate area. we walked to a small park in the city.
We listened to a song that Joshua picked out. As we were listening two older men came to the park both limping. One had a cane. Joshua and I were pulled to each. We talked bit and decided to go talk to them. Joshua did most of the talking. The first guy said he had a lot of pain but wanted no prayer and even turned away. He turned down all offers to pray.
Then we talked to the other guy who talked to us a bit but when I asked if we could pray for him. He said “no he is Catholic and doesn’t want prayer.”
I explained that we are believer in Jesus to and I pray for people and I’ve seen God heal people. He said no.
Then Joshua saw an older lady and when we asked her about her feet pain she said she had pain but wanted no prayer.
Do you think this was unfruitful? I don’t believe so. Joshua and I stepped out in boldness and Faith. Joshua said he heard God tell him Feet. So we went to people we noticed with pain in their feet. We took steps to talk to people. Even though they said no we kept going in what God sent us to do. It was Good.

What will you do when the time comes to talk to strangers? What will you do if they say no? For me and my teammates we will keep moving forward knowing God is with us even in the no.

Hey we shook hands with one of the men. The Bible says we lay hands so I believe his pain will be healed.
I’m thankful for Joshua’s heart also. He has a great heart for people and God and glad he is a part of this squad.

I am excited to do life with these people in my squad. They are all pretty amazing. Should check out their blogs to and support them with prayers.

PS I played full court basketball with youth tonight. Definitely was not like playing with Derek, Kory, Anthony and Andrew and John Sutton back in the day.

Thank you for your prayers and continued support.
