So I am back. We went from Cameron Highlands Malaysia to George Town, Penang, Malaysia. We arrived in Penang with no plans and no connections. We discovered we were only a mile from the rest of our squad. Our intention was to connect with Penhop, which is like IHOP (International House of Prayer), however they didn’t have any ministry opportunities. We connected with a church in Penang. First time we got to go to an international church in Asia. It was refreshing to worship in a church with a band, and Asian Joshua, (Miss worshiping with you Joshua!) and hear the word taught. After church we fellowshipped with many believers from the church. But didn’t get connected with any ministries.
This is where the other team comes in and how they found ministry opportunities (Written well by Alex, <https://alexgoad.theworldrace.org/?filename=let-it-rain>). Our team started working with the homeless through light house and the refugee school. This month also included a couple days of ministry. Since it was Jesse, Forrest and me left on this squad. L Miss you Rodolfo and Joshua! Us guys decided we needed to save Jesse from being the only guy on his team.
Jesse was asked to help a family move out of their old house to a condo. So Forrest and I decided to join him. Early in the morning we left. We arrived at a church to join their worship and prayer. We prayed over the country specifically because of all the changes going on in the government and the fact it was their independence week. We then we to play tetris and move this family’s stuff to a new condo. Let me tell you, Malaysians know how to make condos!! This family blessed the socks off of us guys. Then a different family at a restaurant decided to pay for our dinner when we went out with them. Forrest and I got to swim in the double-decker pool they had at the condo. It had a waterfall. It was awesome! Anyway it was a great day to spend with just the guys and to bless a family.
Then the next day we went with Jesse to the homeless ministry his team started working with through YWAM. We met a lot of people in these days that I can’t put into words. But I got to see so many people blessed by us and they in return blessed us.
As amazing this month was going to a food festival, seeing street art, my team buying a pokemon keychain for me (Funny story just ask if you want to know more), 3d foam art on coffee, working with homeless, several times going out around the town with Forrest, Jackie, and Alex, guy time with Jesse and Forrest, and church. Oh and seeing MONKEYS!!!! It was a sad month also. Several members of this family left us. It was a sad moment, BUT God is good. And I know He has good things planned. Joshua is healed and is getting into his destiny. Jackie went home to Massachusetts to discover new things and to move into the next phase of life with ALL the things she learned here on the Race. And I am telling you she will make an impact. Then there is my Brother. Forrest. Well I know God has planned something awesome with all the growth he has had on this race. He was the one person I walked with for nine months straight and it will be so awesome to see him be a kingdom changer back home in Colorado. I trust God with these three and know they have great destinies a head and like Grace says constantly, “you’re stuck with us foreeeverrrrr.”
After Malaysia, we had a 19 hour train ride to Bangkok Thailand. After saying bye to our friends and having thai massages and other fun shenanigans. We went on another 12 hours to Chiang Mia Thailand for PVT and Debrief. TO BE CONTINUED… Team changes, PVT, Debrief, New and Final season of the World Race….
Eternally Your brother in Christ
