So we are closing up our month in Malaysia so much has happened that I may have to write two blogs now to cover it. Honestly, to say I love these people on my Squad couldn’t explain it enough. 🙂 So much seems to happen in this community its almost too difficult to remember to write it all down. So, anyway, first we flew into Kuala Lumpur Malaysia where we spent a couple days Asking the Lord where and what we should do in Malaysia. We already knew we were going to Cameron Highlands. Just not lodging, how to get there and what we will do that. Well, everything came into place.
We ended up at a nice little hostel owned by a very nice family and met a lot of different travelers. One such traveler was Jay who was on holiday from England and was traveling southern Asia. We all decided to go see the Mossy Forest with Jay one morning. Well, you know those moments where you intend to go somewhere cool, such as one of the oldest forests, but end up getting lost and having fun doing it. This was one of those. Because we decided to take off the map trails in hopes to get around the fact that part of the trail was closed. We weren’t lost because Forrest and I had GPS and knew we were close to town the whole time. But essentially we got lost in the JUNGLE of Malaysia. The monkeys were probably laughing at us the whole time… During this fun Lord of the Rings adventure my phone decided to go swimming in a stream for a brief minute. (It still works!) Got to hear Jay’s stories and talk with him. Met an older man and his son walking the same trail thinking it would go to the Mossy Forest. By the way it didn’t go towards the Forest, but actually went the wrong direction the whole time. Had fun doing it though! There were a few other fun hiking experiences but let’s move to the next Highlands adventure.
There was this park and soccer stadium next to us where we would hang out playing games as a team and intentionally going out to meet people or just worship together. Well one day we met a man, let’s call him Reese,
< https://graceohara.theworldrace.org/post/dirty-uno-bold-conversations>, we got to pray for him and speak God given words of encouragement and love. We met up with this man several times. We all got to share testimonies with him about Jesus and just share the love of God with him. Anyway our time wrapped up in the Cameron Highlands faster than we all expected. But there were good conversations, good people, fun adventures and very good food, especially the spicy food from the same place every day! Then we left to Penang Malaysia to finish up the month. That is in Part 2!
