Today is such a memorable day! Not only is it my 25th birthday, my squad is heading out to Serbia tonight! I am sitting at the Atlanta Airport overseeing the atrium where we all met each other for the first time exactly two months ago for training camp. This time, we are waiting to get on our flight to our first stop on the race!

Four days ago, I left my Brooklyn home and headed to Atlanta, GA for Launch. There, I learned about how I can serve my team as their treasurer and even had a chance to have a worship session with my mom and my sister one evening!

In case you guys are interested, here is a picture of what I packed for the next 11 months:

Somehow, everything fits! All of my belongings weigh a total of 60lbs spread across the 2 bags; that’s about ½ of me!

Before we leave the country, here are some updates on my trip:

  • With things shifting in Greece and the EU, we will no longer be going to Greece. Instead, we will be going to Macedonia! Also, we are re-arranging our route in Africa. Here is our current route: Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam.

If you are like me and have no idea where these countries are located, I’ve made a handy map pinning all of the locations.

  • At our first stop, Team ‘Twined by the Vine’ will be located in Novi Sad, Serbia. We will be serving alongside an organization named Fokus. During our stay there, we’ll be helping out with the children’s camp and the teenage camp. We don’t know too much about the teenage camp yet but the children’s camp will be VBS based on Kingdom on the Rocks. We will be organizing the activities for them (games, royal ball, dances…etc.). In addition to the camp on weekdays, we will be preparing for the Sunday services and the follow-up work after camp.

My heart is so full. I am so blessed to have an amazing community at home that loves and encourages me, which allow me to do the same to those I will meet in the next 11 months and beyond! Thank you to all of my supporters who sent me out on this journey and I’m excited to take all of you on this journey with me!
