My name is Vivian Skattum, I just recently graduated from Eden Prairie High School in Minnesota. I am the oldest of 4 girls. I love art, music, and travel! I am blessed to have grown up in a Christian household and have grown up in the church, although I’m still learning how to make my faith my own!

Since returning from a mission trip in Ghana Africa in January, I really felt that God is calling me to continue His work in sharing the truth. I am well traveled-from being born in Saudi Arabia, living in Europe, and doing missions work in Ghana and Mongolia. My family has worked with children at risk for almost 5 years now through a program called “Together for good”. We have embraced over 28 children that need support and a safe home. This experience serves as constant reminders that not only across the world, but still here in our own communities there is a need for the love of Christ to be shown. I look forward to making deep lasting and meaningful relationships with everyone I meet along the way during the race along with my “squad” members (other racers who will be on this journey with me)!

My relationship with Jesus has had its ups and downs throughout my life. I went through a really dark time in my life and God held me above water. Jesus’s grace and mercy is shown daily in my walk with Him. The holy spirit is alive in me. I’ve witnessed and experienced God work in powerful ways, especially in the most recent trip to Ghana Africa. Seeing people who barely have enough money to eat once a day, surrender themselves to the Lord and rely on Him daily was eye opening. I feel closest to God through the form of worship and song! My favorite song currently is “Goodness of God” by Bethel Music. Although my flesh fails me daily, God has never and will never fail me!
