For several months I have wanted to have a yard sale to help with my missions trip funds and after today I am so happy to say that after selling 90% of everything I own (clothes, shoes, electronics, accessories etc.) I have raised $620.
That means that I now have raised a Total of (drum roll please. . . . . .) $5,000.
PRAISE GOD!
For all of you wondering I still need to raise $9,900 more to be fully funded. So to break it down I need 11 people to sponsor me for 11 months with $75.
I want to thank everyone who helped make today such a success:
Uncle Rigo & Auntie Genevieve Thank you for letting me use your home to have my yard sale
Terry Powers & Jen Russin: Thank you for donating your clothes & electronics
Mario & Ludim Zamora: Thank you for donating little eziah's "couture" clothes and Lu thank you for your sassy shoes =]
Mario & Fulya Paz: Thank you for donating the boys clothes i'm going to miss them
LAST BUT NOT LEAST A Million thank yous to Pastor Marc Payan and Katie Payan. I couldn't have taken this big step without your continuous support. Thank you for encouraging me to always listen to the calling that God places in ones heart. I Love You.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
I refuse to be defined by the things I own. My time is running out, Your time is running out and we need to be aware of what is truly important. What is one life worth?
1 Corinthians 7:29-31
I do want to point out, friends, that time is of the essence. There is no time to waste, so don't complicate your lives unnecessarily. Keep it simple —in marriage, grief, joy, whatever. Even in ordinary things—your daily routines of shopping, and so on. Deal as sparingly as possible with the things the world thrusts on you. This world as you see it is on its way out.
