I made it here safely thanks to the Lord:) My squad and I met at JFK airport and began our 13 hour flight to Hyderabad, India. I must say I have never known the true meaning of jet lag till these last two weeks, but I have learned to stay awake no matter how hard it can be at times. The four days that we spent in Hyderabad were debrief days with my squad. We learned about what lies ahead of us as a team and we had an amazing time of just bonding again as a body in Christ. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner together and had several meetings a day. I never thought I could eat so much rice and curry in one week:) but it was very tasty!
The last day they gave us our ministry site for the month as teams and that is where I am currently at. For the month of January we will be serving in Bangalore, India with the YWAM ministry that has a base here. YWAM (Youth With a Mission) is an international ministry that AIM has partnered with. We just arrived yesterday, and the team that we have met here has been amazing. They are full of God’s love and have welcomed us with open arms.
Today we spent the day working at a children’s ministry. We sang songs, played games, performed skits, and I got a chance to share the gospel with the Children. The children were so precious and they really just touched your heart. Many of them said yes to Christ as their Savior praise God, and my team and I got to pray with them! They meet twice a week and we will be at those meetings with them. The children are from what they call the “slums”, and I am excited to spend time with them throughout this month.
During this month we will also be doing street evangelism, preaching, prayer walks throughout the city, and leading college aged small groups. Please keep my team and I in your prayers that Christ will live through us and His Kingdom will advance! I will have internet most the time here so more updates soon to come:)
