Hey everyone thank you for checking out my journey. For those that do not know me my name is Vincent Farino you can call me Vinny or Vin… I am 23 years old and I just graduated from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA..I studied Communication, Business Administration, and Philosphy of Religious Studies. During school I worked two jobs one of them being at a coffee shop called Harbour Coffee. This is where i was first introduced to the World Race. One of my friends who would frequently come into the coffee shop began telling me about his sister going on this missions trip called the world race. I really had been praying that the Lord would open a missions opportunity for me before I began my search for a job and career, and when I heard about the World Race I was very interested. After many days of prayer and research I really had a peace about this trip, and the Lord confirmed me going through several things that I had been praying for!
To tell you a little bit about myself I have grown up in Williamsburg, Va all my life and even stayed close to home by going to CNU, but I lived at CNU during college. I have a very big family and they mean the world to me! I have three sisters, one brother, and several cousins who are as close as my immediate family. We are very close and I would not be who I am today without them.

I grew up in a Christian home and learned how to seek the Lord through my Father Tony (Yes we are an Italian family:). I thank the Lord that my dad put the Lord first in his life and by watching him I learned how important it is to spend time with the Lord and develop a personal, intimate relationship with Him. My dad, even though his faith was strong had some sin struggles in his life that really separated him from my family when I was in 6th grade. He passed away when I was 20 years old from a heart attack, but I really believe at the end of his life he was fully restored with the Lord, and that the Lord took him before he could fall again! Through my experience with my earthly father my relationship with my Heavenly Father grew much deeper. That verse that states “He is Father to the Fatherless” really became real in my life and the Lord has really provided and taken care of me in every way as a Dad:).
During college I worked two jobs and paid my own way, but unfortunately working really took over my life. Thank the Lord though because I graduated debt free!! Throughout college I would frequently help out with Young Life and go to several IV events, but I did not commit to one group or the other. I really felt like the Lord wanted me to meet with several dudes who were not apart of any group and so I asked them if they would be interested in a small group and they were! I learned a lot through that small group some easy experiences and some very difficult experiences, but the Lord was so good through it all!
Throughout college and my life in general I have tried to face everyday as a missions opportunity and let the Holy Spirit lead me. There have been many times that I would ignore His voice, but He has still been faithful to me and used me several times as well.
I have been out of the country several times, but I am really excited about this missions opportunity and I can’t wait to meet everyone and get started! The Lord has been teaching me to trust Him more with areas of my life and I believe this missions opportunity will certainly embrace that lesson as well!
