I want to take a moment to shed some light.
Last month, this current month and the next month my squad and I are traveling through closed countries to the “Unreached People Groups”. Over the span of this month, my new team(Bold and Relentless Edge – B.A.R.E.) and another team (New Kids On The Block – N.K.O.T.B.) are partnering with a ministry that reaches out to the Unreached People Groups in the wild, in the mountains and wherever else. Due to the inaccessibility and remoteness of some of these villages, this month we will be trekking to these isolated villages!!
So, what exactly is an “Unreached People Group”? Last month, our squad mentor shared a website with us that has some humbling statistics… it broke our hearts. The information below is gathered from The Joshua Project;
Definition: Unreached People Groups
“An unreached or least-reached people is a people group among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize this people group without outside assistance. Joshua Project uses the terms “unreached” and “least-reached” to mean the same thing. The terms are used interchangeably on this website. The original Joshua Project editorial committee selected the criteria less than or equal to 2% Evangelical Christian and less than or equal to 5% Professing Christians”

Below is what each color dot on the map symbolizes;
Red: Unreached
Orange: Minimally Reached
Yellow: Superficially Reached
Light Green: Partially Reached
Dark Green: Significantly Reached
Here are some of the countries that my squad has/will visit;

And now… prepare for your heart to break with these stastics. The statistics of the world…

41.5% of the world is yet Unreached...
Matthew 9:37-38
“Then He said to his disciples, “The harvest is rich, but the workers are few. Pray that the Lord of the harvest will send out workers to gather in his harvest.””
You can go or you can support someone to go!
If you ever are in some of these more unreached countries, I’d like to encourage you to take the time to share about Jesus for, as our squad mentor said, “you may be the only follower of Jesus that they may come across in their life”. If you love hiking, get out to some of these remote places!! Hey, you’ll get to see some beautiful views as well! The love of Jesus should not be contained within us but spread out to all around us! People need to know how amazing He is and how much He loves everyone.
You can also do this at home!! Step out of your comfort zone… the temporary discomfort is so worth the joy of someone receiving Jesus into their life! Look at the maps above… there are “Unreached people groups” in the states! For those who live in Minnesota, there are Unreached People Groups even in the greater Twin Cities region! This may sound unreal but it is possible.. I’ve had a conversation with a girl in my city (St. Cloud) that has never heard of Jesus before!
