I really like lists. To be honest, my obsession kinda runs deep.

I get a thrill from writing things down, laying it all out and crossing things off. The way I see it, if it crosses your mind, you can make a list out of it. Sometimes I write things on the list that I have already completed just so I get the satisfaction of running a line through it.

I like grocery lists, to-do lists, packing lists, travel lists, bucket-list lists, activities-for-the-weekend lists and I am honestly enjoying writing this list of lists more than I should right now…

So naturally, I thought I would write a list of the things that I want to accomplish before, during and after the race.

I got out my favorite pen, a piece of paper and got to thinking.

Time passed, thoughts came and went, my brain was listening as my heart was speaking and I was trying to think of where to start. Sitting there, with a hazelnut coffee in hand, I realized that all of my desires and all of the possible items I could write on the list narrowed down to two simple points.

Two simple yet massive points.

So I pray to have my actions, thoughts and interactions be guided by these two simple points. To find a partner that helps me pursue these two simple points and a community that leads me back to these two simple points when I lose focus. I pray to fix my eyes on these two simple yet massive points.

My list:

Because Your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify You
Psalm 63:3

Let love and faithfulness never leave you,
bind them around your neck and
write them on the tablet of your heart
Proverbs 3:3

For in Him, we live and move and have our being
Acts 17:28

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be
enlightened in order that you may know
the hope to which He has called you,
the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people
Ephesians 1:18

Seek God’s will in all you do and
He will direct your path
Proverbs 3:6

The mind governed by the flesh is death,
but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
Romans 8:6

Let us run with perseverance the race
marked out for us,
fixing our eyes on Jesus,
the pioneer and perfecter of our faith
Hebrews 12:1-2
