Words aren’t quiet my thing. But when you have such an incredible God, Creator, Father and Forever Companion, you use all of the ways you can to praise and worship Him!
So I have been exploring.
With words (I am used to journaling but writing Him songs, poems, psalms in brand new). With musical instruments. With making up my own lyrics. With more watercolors. I have even started to lean into mingling in Spanish and English because no amount of praise, singing, and loving Him is enough!!
God doesn’t ask for our “art” or our worship or our praise to be pretty, at all. He asks for it to be genuine, full of love and sometimes even fun! So I challenge us to explore worshipping Him in new ways this month.
Nature. In depth analysis of scripture. Listening prayer. Music. Dancing (my favorite). Art. Poems. You get the drill.
Psalm 151 – By Vielka Fajardo
I am made to discover
And to live in color and awe
I am meant to explore
And to be curious and wide eyed
I am created to play, to giggle and rejoice
I? am called fully trust, to dream big and to rest in the arms of my Father
I crave my Creators embrace
I am guided by my loving Fathers instructions
I am shaped by His unending love
I am reminded of who I am because of who He is
I am all that I am because I am a child of God
I have allowed outside whispers pull me away from my inherited playground
And allowed the tugs of the world to distract me from my favorite game with the Father
And let my identity turn from beloved child to performance and fear driven
Allowing my flesh to grasp onto cleverly whispered lies
Praise be to MY Papa for reminding me of who I am as His precious, chosen and beloved daughter
For leading me back to my child intended identity.
For realigning my heart posture towards the one He intentionally, carefully, and lovingly crafted
So that I can remember than I am not a token of this world but instead an extension of His grandness
A carefully thought out creation and a proudly woven masterpiece
So that through His penmanship and purpose, His glory and Splendor can be revealed in the Canvas of my God-spoken story
