We met a woman at underground church that we have been attending to in Sri Lanka, and she invited us into her home to pray for her family, to share the gospel and to talk about Gods love with her husband. All in the hopes that he too would accept Jesus into his heart like she had done a few months ago. She opened up her humble home to us, and fed us some of the best Sri Lankan food I’ve had. She was so generous and loving, all while her husband has been out of a job for a while thus in a sticky financial situation with 3 babies and 2 grandmas living at home.

We prayed, we shared bible verses and about the overwhelming love of God. And how He has that love for each one of them and what that all means and entails.

We had lunch and went on a little trip to the river behind their home. We shared laughter and memories.

One of their daughters- 7 years old- stole my heart. Her hugs, smiles and kisses were abundant and her joy and laughter contagious. We played and colored the afternoon away.

This little girl and her momma came to a prayer service the next day to share with us that the husband and sister in law wanted to accept Jesus into their hearts and that they were coming to the underground church on Easter Sunday! Praise!!

So I gave away my dress to this little girl. Not just because she stole my heart with her kind soul and beautiful smile. But because I want this dress to remind them of God’s beautiful love for this entire family and what all that means for them. I got to share that with them, and I got to pray over the dress that it will do just that for the family. That it will bring them closer to our Heavenly Father and that it will wrap them up in His love and promises and faithfulness.

This dress will not only provide this little girl with an article of clothing (which is very needed) but it will also provide this girl and her entire family with a reminder that they are loved by their Heavenly Father.

To my surprise she showed up to the Easter Sunday service (the little girls first ever church service) wearing the dress, with the biggest smile on her face and pointing at the cross! We hugged, we communded, listened to the news of the ressurection and sang praises to our Heavenly Father together along with other brand new believers in this small church in Sri Lanka.

My prayer: Sweet little nuggz, I pray that you grow up craving a relationship with Jesus. That you are comforted and protected by His presence. I pray that you see how carefully and purposefully you were created. That you lean into God, who calls you His beloved daughter! I pray that you listen to the voice of the Spirit for it will guide and instruct you. But most of all I pray that you are filled by God’s love, that it overwhelms you and that it brings you joy!
