Hello.

That is probably one of my favorite words, along with “discombobulated”, “shenanigans”, and the phrase, “Good Morning.” My name is Victoria Schafer and it is amazing to be writing an “About” post for Gap Year. I am currently nineteen years old and a Freshman in College. I thoroughly enjoy intended puns, lively conversation, and Dove Dark Chocolate. *I also recently found out that I like beanies* Which you can’t wear a lot of beanies in Alabama, which is where I am from. I attend a college here in Alabama and had the opportunity through the college to go to Texas, and it was there that I first felt like God was calling me to Gap Year.  I was on a Disaster Relief Trip with a group of people I had never met before, and one night I was scrolling through Facebook and saw a post about the World Race, and felt the prompting in my heart that this was the next step for me. An application process, prayer, and lots of Jesus later, and here I am taking a leap towards what God said was next, though it was a process in itself to say yes to his plan. I am glad you are here reading this, and I want to invite you to stay tuned with all God is doing here, because he is so faithful and true. I am excited to share this journey with all who venture onto this page and hope that these words inspire you to seek God and find out the plan he has for your life, because he does have one.
