Malaysia has been another ATL (ask the Lord) month for us. At times I’ve had to fight thoughts of discouragement when our team wasn’t in sync and when the Lord didn’t give us clear direction on what to do for ministry. We started our month off in a big city where we were blessed with encounters and fruitful conversations.
One of these encounters was when we went into the city to do a prayer walk. During our prayer walk, we stumbled upon a Buddhist temple and a woman begging for money at the entry gate. I don’t remember which one of us was prompted by the Holy Spirit to sit down with this woman but we all ended up on the ground at her feet. We sat there and listened to her story. We learned that she had come to Malaysia years ago from China to find work. Her husband had past away recently, leaving her with no family besides two sons. She is on the streets begging for money because she is unable to work due to her vision. This beautiful seventy-three year old woman was such a joy to talk to. We had the opportunity to pray for her vision and a blessing over her. How sweet it was to sit on the ground, in a closed country and in a Buddhist temple praying to our one true God.
We are thankful for such encounters and continue to pray as a team for direction.Through a lot of listening prayer, the Lord lead us to a rural community and is now opening a door for us to come alongside a ministry that works with children and young adults with disabilities.
