Let me begin with this truth : I am not a talented musician.
I feel as though I have been handed a pile of symphony orchestra sheet music and expected to play it perfectly. Lost and in treble— I’m staring at the paper trying to make sense of the complex lines and dots while attempting to sing it as an acapella solo.
Noticing my exasperation, God has stepped in and corrected me, “You’re going at this all wrong—Allow me to help you. You’re not supposed to do this by yourself, kiddo…
… the paper is backwards and upside down…
…also, this is a recipe for Kung Pow Chicken.”
You see? I have been putting off fundraising for weeks because I am dreadful at asking for help. I’d rather wrestle with a task on my own than admit I have no clue what I am doing. BUT I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT I AM DOING! haha
Many of you wonderful people have begun asking me how I plan on financing The World Race. I have skirted the topic hoping God would tell me, “Do this yourself. Go it alone. You know what?— you’ve got this one in the bag! You don’t need help!”
But He didn’t say that—instead He stepped in, eager for me to lean on Him for guidance in something He created and asked me to do.
This journey has already begun to shape into a story far more beautiful and better suited for me than what I imagined on my own. This is a journey about community and Kingdom building. It is an undertaking meant to discover and share God’s Love around the world. Your personal interest in supporting me through prayer and encouragement has already overwhelmed me. THANK YOU! I have been reminded that I am not alone and I have not been called on this journey by myself. God has placed you in my life as part of a well-designed support system.
I am praying for each of you, as you offer your prayers for me. May the stories I share over the time of this journey encourage you as make a journey of your own—whether that involves music, a career, a family, or Kung Pow Chicken.
I also invite you to consider helping me reach my fundraising goal. Will you consider helping me? By September 28, I need to have at least $5,000 of my total trip cost ($18,700) raised. The money donated goes directly to Adventures in Missions and CAN be written off as a tax deductible donation to a well-established, non-profit organization.

Lastly, I will end with this truth : I have never made Kung Pow Chicken.
