So after four days of debrief with my team we are now
getting plugged in to our ministries. Usually all the team departs to go to
different places around the Philippines for ministry but this month we all get
to live in community together! Our squad is staying at a house here with an organization
called Kids International Ministries. They work with kids in a variety
of areas and have an orphanage for the younger kids. The Long’s are the family
of 7 that run the place and we are very blessed to be working with them.

For our primary ministry we are working with a home
called Children’s Garden located in the city of Antipolo. This home
works with teenage boys 13-18. These boys come from the streets of the
Philippines and often from a life of drugs and alcohol. They are housed, feed,
schooled and taught about Jesus. These boys are helped to reach a life of
dependency on Christ and ability to get a job a live on their own. We get to partner with them and love on these boys in any
way we can. I am not sure exactly what we will be doing quite yet but lately we
have just been getting to know the guys. They do outreaches to other boys and
families in the community that we also will get to partner in doing.

Children’s Garden the whole time also but I am still praying and seeking.

I am eager to see how I will be used this month. I have been
running low on energy so prayers that I gain the energy and excitement to work
with these boys. Many of us here are getting sick because we are in one of the
dirtiest cities in the world. I was last week and I am better but pray for
those who are still sick.
