Here I am in Week 9 of my Distractions Fast. Yes it has been a struggle. And I have really enjoyed it.
I don’t always have that nagging feeling that I need to check my Facebook every hour.
I don’t have meaningful conversations with people over text anymore.
I don’t desire to always put these distractions in front of the Lord.
I have realized that living in America we tend to fill out time with so many random things. When school was out I was happy that I would actually have some free time. And you know what? I fill it. Everyweek it is something new that takes my free time. But I have been making time for the Lord.
Slowly I have started texting and checking my facebook recently. I am learning to control that desire and amount of time that I use it.
So what has the Lord been teaching me lately?
I have been reading Ephesians recently. I have just been falling in Love with God’s word. I have been holding on to those simple truths that are in this book. I love just sitting and reading my Bible and marking it up. I would draw pictures, write reminders, underline. circle and square. It has been quite fun!
