Week two of ministry here in India is in full swing and I figured I should update y’all on life here. My team and I are doing Sunday school ministry here. Every evening we travel to a different village and teach Sunday school to the kids there. They are all so sweet and bubbly. Sunday school consists of teaching a Bible story, leading action songs, and playing games with the kids. Some favorite action songs include the Lord’s army, head shoulders knees and toes, father Abraham, a few Indian songs our wonderful translator has taught us, and, of course, the banana song. They love the banana song and the way my teammate, Sydney R, leads it makes the song ten times better (that song was made for her). Some staple games to play with the kids include red light, green light, four corners tag, and duck duck grey duck (they absolutely LOVE this one and the adults love watching the kids play this one).

If I’m being completely honest, I was bit apprehensive about being in India the first week, especially when we left the big city and its western influences and came to the countryside where there are very few things that are familiar and comfortable. But being able to do ministry with my team every night has been such a blessing in disguise to me. Every night, I get to laugh and play with my team, our hilarious translator, and the super awesome Indian kids who for some weird reason think we’re the bombdiggity. It lifts my spirit to see the love and joy of God reflected on their faces, even though they have so little. Now, I am excited for the next week and a half of ministry. We get another week and a half of pouring into cute little Indian children as they do the same to us.
