I apologise for the SUPER late update, but I finally wrote a blog! Granted PVT was a month and a half ago, but I hope you enjoy it and hopefully more blogs will be on the way soon! Also, I have less than two weeks left in this beautiful country! I wanted to thank all of my supporters for making this incredible, life changing adventure possible and for your continued prayer and support! Y’all rock!!!
My squad and I just finished our first month in Ecuador! All 28 of us are living together in a big house but doing ministry separately by teams. For our three months in Ecuador, my team, Living Water is teaching at an international school. I work with the second grade class and love my little munchkins. Even though they don’t speak much English (cause they’re, you know, 7 and 8), they are so cute and I love them! One things that they love doing is coming up to me at random times during the day and giving me hugs! My teammates and I have loved getting to know the students and faculty there and building relationships with them This past week we have taken a break from our normal ministry for a very special thing called Parent Vision Trip (PVT). PVT is a time when we get to invite our parents to spend a week with us on the field doing ministry and seeing what life on the World Race is like. I was lucky enough to have my mom come out for PVT and spend the last week with her. Having my mom with me for a week was such a mix of emotions and feelings. It was awesome having her in Ecuador and being able to talk with her face to face for the first time in seven months. It was fun showing her around Quito and showing off my newfound skills in navigating a foreign city. However, I would be lying if I didn’t say that it was also hard and exhausting spending 24/7 with someone you haven’t seen and barely talked to for the last seven months. Even though it may have been a bit awkward at first, our week quickly transitioned into a time of awesome time of parent and racer bonding. I got to do ministry alongside my mom everyday. From dancing with mentally disabled elderly people, to doing a Bible study and nail painting session with young mothers to evangelising on the streets and handing out flowers on Easter, being able to share my love for this country, these people, and for international missions has been an incredible experience. Every night we also had all squad worship with our parents and had the opportunity to share World Race testimonies with them. Some of our parents also shared how the race had affected them. This past week has been crazy incredible and I will never forget the memories I made working alongside my mom to glorify the Kingdom of God in Ecuador.

Seeing my mom for the first time in seven months!

At the equator!

My mom drinking coffee (she hates it) cause it was so cold where we were staying!

At ministry, we led a Bible study and then the lovely ladies we were with decided to do our nails and hair!
