Dear Family and Friends,
I would like to start by thanking God for his continuous blessings and favor in your lives and my life as well. As you may or may not know, I graduated from high school last June and have been attending Ridgewater College this school year. Since I took college classes in high school, I will be graduating with my associates degree this May. My impending graduation has left me thinking a lot about the future lately. Where do I want to transfer to finish my bachelor’s degree? What do I want to major in? These questions have been swirling in my mind since August, and until recently, it seemed as though I would never find a clear answer.
Ever since I was a little girl, the Lord has laid the desire on my heart to go to the nations and be the hands and feet of God and share the overwhelming love and hope of Jesus Christ to those who have none. I am excited to announce that the Lord has given me the opportunity to do just that by participating in a program called the World Race Gap Year!
The World Race Gap Year is a program that was started by their parent company, Adventures in Missions and is a Christian mission trip that travels to 5 countries in 9 months. One of the unique things about the World Race Gap Year is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race Gap Year, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to victims of natural disasters, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
Starting this September, I will be traveling to India, Nepal, Zambia, Malawi, and Ecuador with my team. I cannot do this alone and am asking for your support and partnership on this mission trip. First and foremost, I ask for your prayer. Pray for my team, my leaders, myself, and for God to move in the most unimaginable and beautiful ways.
Another way to help me is by supporting me financially. In order for me to leave in September fully funded, I must raise $14,951 which covers meals, travel, lodging, training, and administrative costs. I know this looks like a daunting amount, but in comparison to my God, it is nothing. My God can move mountains, create something out of nothing, and perform unimaginable miracles. My God can do anything, and if it is His will for me to go on this mission trip, He will provide. Would you prayerfully consider a one-time or monthly gift? Every donation is tax deductible and every donation, regardless of size, makes a difference.
The bottom of this page has more specific instructions on how to give and details about the different options. Please visit my blog page as well, at victoriahalvorson.theworldrace.org, to see updates on my trip and posts while I am out on the field! Please feel free to email me with any questions you have! My email address is [email protected] or there is a “Contact” link in the upper left hand side of my blog page as well. I would like to thank you in advance for your prayers and financial support. I hope that through this experience I may be a blessing to you, as well as to the people I will have the honor of serving directly around the world.
God Bless,
Victoria Halvorson
