I currently weigh 1*5 pounds.
Ha! I said I’d be honest, I never promised to tell you everything! 😉
My weight and size have more or less hovered around this mark for the last decade, but each year there seem to be more lumps and wobbly bits. And I’ve noticed that sitting on the couch eating bonbons and wishing to be thinner has not yielded the desired results – shocking!
Actually, I consider myself a Forrest Gump or an Energizer Bunny of walking – I could just keep going and going – but that’s not quite good enough. Many of my October teammates are marathon-runners, so I’m definitely motivated to step it up. This week during my workouts, I increased my pace to a jog for a while. That was major, and surprisingly, not so bad!
I won’t delve into all that “my body is a temple” stuff right now, but I absolutely acknowledge that I need to take responsibility for my health. I want to develop and practice better habits and set reasonable fitness goals.
You see, getting into top physical condition is part of the training for the World Race because of the demands of the travel and ministry:
for example, in some countries, we will be working construction; in others, we will be chasing after children. We may have to serve in high altitudes or walk long distances carrying our packs.
In any case, we need physical – as well as spiritual – strength and endurance.
I’m posting this information so that you can pray for me, cheer me on, and keep me accountable – and so that you’ll keep those cookies away from me!
