This week – at the end of our fourth month on the World Race – we were assigned NEW TEAMS.

I have learned a lot about God, myself, and community by living and working alongside Team Aletheia.  And now our leaders have decided to re-shuffle us into new families so that we can get to know our other squad mates better, and to encourage us and challenge us in new ways.

I am now a part of Team Banah!

בנה Bânâh

(Hebrew) to restore, to build, to establish, or to cause to continue

Laura Meyers (team leader)
(me) Victoria Skyvalidas

You may recognize Angi & Jeff who were also on Team Aletheia with me.

I am excited to continue with them,
as I believe that we may have the “keys” to unlock healing in each others’ lives.

The other three ladies were formerly on Team Hephzibah together.
They are already my dear friends
having worked together in the Philippines in October,
so I am thrilled to get to minister and hang out with them again.

Mark was on Team Libre,
and we worked together in Hong Kong and China in November.
He is also very cool.

I am delighted about the team change.
All of my new teammates are a lot of fun,
(it’s less scary forming teams when we already know each other,
unlike when they threw us together in August at training camp!)
and we are confident that God will do amazing things
in and through us.

God spoke through the prophets of the Old Testament,
promising to RESTORE His people despite their unfaithfulness.
Jesus came to earth to RESTORE the relationship between God and humanity.
He also restored people to wholeness by healing them,
physically and spiritually.
We come before God in brokenness and trust Him to RESTORE us.
We are also eager to be used as His agents of restoration
as we go out into the world.

In addition to the change in teams, we have a change in itinerary.
We are going to spend February in TANZANIA instead of Ethiopia as expected.
I volunteered in a village school near Arusha in the summer of 2007,
so I am thrilled to be going back.
I don’t know much about our miistry location yet,
just that we’ll be staying near the town/region of Mwanza

Hopefully we will have more regularly internet access
so that you won’t be bombarded with a million blog posts all at one time
like you were this week!
I really appreciate your support and prayers!
