My time in Rivas, Nicaragua, went by way too fast.
Throughout the month, strangers became family instantly, which is one of my favorite things about God’s Kingdom. Even though it is the hardest, because that means the “see you laters” are so much more difficult.
While my team and I started making our “see you later” rounds during the last few days, God reminded me “Yes, you hate goodbyes – but its not! It’s either a see you later on Earth, or a see you later in HEAVEN – where you can see them FOREVER!”
Even if it is years til I see family again, atleast it will be ETERNITY with them in HEAVEN!
Hasta luego o hasta en cielo [see you later, or see you in heaven]
God also reminded me of His love. That no matter what, we will need Him more and more. A verse from Bethel’s song, “Need You More,” has been on constant repeat in my mind; God has been constantly reminding me of the glory, joy, and stillness that Heaven brings.
I need you more, more than yesterday
I need you more, more than words can say
I need you more than ever before
I need you Lord, I need you Lord
More than the air I breathe
More than the song I sing
More than the next heartbeat
God pursues us, forever, He never stops.
He never stops loving us.
He never stops leading us.
He never stops talking to us.
He never stops fighting for us.
He never stops living in us.
He never stops choosing us.
He never leaves us.
He is ALWAYS our Advocate.
We will NEVER be fully satisfied, until we see Him face to face.
In John 14, God reminds us about His Advocate, the Holy Spirit. One of the reasons Jesus died was to bring the Holy Spirit. Jesus was in one place, but our Advocate, the Holy Spirit can be EVERYWHERE; it IS everywhere.
“I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
John 14:27
Advocate: a person who pleads for or in behalf of another; intercessor.
Synonyms: apostle, champion, promotor, a vociferous supporter, booster, white knight
I Am gave each of us a gift that never leaves, nor forsakes, and always fights for NO matter what. That no matter the trials, the questions, the tears, the joy, the stillness – He will always be our Advocate!
“And I (Jesus) will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth…”
John 14:16-17
This month, God reminded me that I could love people more, I could know Him more, I could pray more, I could do anything for Him – BUT I will still not be satisfied. Until I see Him face to face, I am going to long for Him more and more. Each day, I need to be thankful for my Advocate, who fights for me daily.
“I will never be truly satisfied until I am with You. I want you more, I want you more than life itself.”
