Oh, how I will miss our life in Nepal. This country is filled with a beauty that astounds me every day. This beauty comes from the people, culture and the nature that surrounds you on a daily basis.

Our life here in Nepal has been one of simplicity here at the Yak Ranch. We may not have wifi or TV for instance BUT we do have running water and electricity (most of the time at least). Plus we have hot water for showers! It is the simple things in life that seem to bring us the most joy this month.

The vision of the Yak Ranch is one of splendor and vastness. Our ministry host has a desire for this place to be one of rest and refuge for missionaries and a school for those who have a heart for unreached people groups. My host has a heart for the people of the Nepal and wants to see the unreached be reached. His goal is to have all of the income from the hotel and restaurant that is on the current property to go towards missions and I don’t mean some of it but ALL of the proceeds. The reason it is called the Yak Ranch is due to the fact that he wants to attract tourists to his hotel by using Yak rides through the mountains. It is definitely unique and will grab the attention of those seeking adventures through the mountains. It has been amazing to share in his vision for this place and I pray that the Lord will continue to provide!

My daily life here looks like this….I wake up either at 6:30am for a workout or 7:30am when I want to sleep in. Then 8am rolls around around for breakfast and then I try for some quiet time with the Lord till we begin work at 9:30am. We work till 12:30pm cutting grass, burning trash, digging or lying rocks to name a few of the jobs we do for manual labor around here. Then we have lunch at 1pm and begin working again 2-3:30pm. We tend to have the afternoon free with women’s bible study beginning at 6pm and finally dinner at 7! Team time is usually sometime before or after dinner also. There are a few of us that have been struggling with this not being a relational ministry month but that means we have more time to pour into one another and really support and encourage our ministry hosts!

As we finish our time here in Nepal, I ask for your prayers for this country. There is a hunger and a deep desire to chase after the Lord. The people here are hungry for the truth and I pray that they will be led to this truth. The government may be trying to crack down but I can tell that it is just getting people more fired up about spreading the Gospel here!
