Hey Everyone!

Check out the recap video I made of my time working in South Africa!

My team and I were partnered with some amazing hosts on the outskirts of East London. Our hosts, Jonathan and Tracie, are involved in a myriad of ministry assignments and initiatives, and we were fortunate to be able to be a part of all of them.

Some of our main jobs were:

  • The King’s Childrens Home- This was one of our main ministry assignments. It is a shelter for neglected and orphaned children, ranging from just hours old to 4 years of age. This shelter is in the backyard of Jonathan and Tracie’s home. They also run a pre-school out of their home, though we were not involved with this particular project.
  • Crossways Christian Fellowship- Jonathan is the lead pastor of this church. We were very involved in the life of the church and were able to do things from, preaching on Sundays, to teaching at the community youth group events, to participating in various small groups, etc.
  • African Angels- This is a K-6 primary school for local village children that was founded by Tracie. The school originated in their home but they quickly outgrew the space. They are now in a school building and have close to 90 students. Many of the students are funded by sponsorships from foreigners, while Mercedes Benz South Africa helps fund other operational costs associated with the school. We were privileged to go into the school and serve alongside the teachers and students.
