My name is Victoria and I was born and raised in Alabama. I graduated from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide) with a Bachelors in Business Commerce– Marketing and a Masters in Human Environmental Sciences– Sports Management. While attending the university, I was a Senior Captain of the Women’s Varsity Rowing Team and played a role in several campus activities, volunteering projects and jobs. After spending all of my college years participating in, and working for, athletics, I realized that I did not want to spend my life working in sports. I began to pursue more corporate positions and was eventually brought on board at Target as an Executive Team Leader.

After college, I had a dream and sense of urgency to do something for God that had purpose. After two years of prayer and seeking The Lord, I decided to take advantage of my crafty-skills and knack-for-style to make jewelry, in order to help fund certain faith-based organizations that I believed in. I had several craft shows and currently sell jewelry on my website, www.SunsDaughters.com. [Now that I will be joining the World Race, this endeavor will be put on hold from September 2015 through October 2016.]

Over the last several years, as I’ve grown in the Lord, there have been times when I can barely sit still because of the stirring in my heart and spirit to see God move, and for his people to have revelation of who He truly is. I want to experience all that he has to offer and see the impossible, become possible, before my eyes.

In the winter/spring of 2015 I began looking at houses to purchase, as the next, seemingly inevitable, “adult decision” as a young professional. During this process, I spent much time in prayer, as I wanted to make sure that a purchase like this, was something God had planned for me, in this time of my life. Like any normal human being, I wanted to make sure I made the right decision and chose the right house!

In usual God-fashion, He began to lead me in a different direction, other than home-ownership. My heart has always stirred for the world, but now, he was really making an impression in my spirit for missions. And what better time to serve Him? I do not have any major debt and I do not currently have a significant other or children.

When I was in college I often thought about what Paul spoke of in 2 Corinthians 7. In this portion of scripture he talks about how awesome the single life is. He doesn’t knock marriage by any means, but he talks about how genuine, free and devoted, your fervor and pursuit for all-things-God can be, when you are single. And that is what I’ve been trying to do since then. 🙂
