I’m so sorry, this post is way overdue! In June an email was sent out to announce the opportunity to be part of a very special project. The World Race Documentary Project. The email explained that Route 4 (K squad) would be filmed to create a documentary/ tv show/ whatever God wants to do with it.
When I first read the email I thought “That will be an amazing experience for that squad! But there is no way I could ever do that. I have no desire for cameras to be anywhere near me, and I already love my squad!” But for some reason I just couldn’t shake the feeling that I needed to consider it. After a lot of prayer, I was reminded that the reason I wanted to do the World Race in the first place was so I would be thrown outside my comfort zone, why should this be any different. But still not convinced the documentary project was for me, I emailed my mobilizer Kayla and let her know that I knew this change would jumble the amount of people on each squad and if they needed another person on any squad then I would move. A couple of days later I got an email from Kelly King asking me to switch to the documentary route. But again, I still wasn’t sure, I was praying about it again when I heard:
“Victoria, you already told Me that you would go wherever I led.”
Well, there was my answer. And I couldn’t be more happy that I did. The squad I am on is amazing! Any worries I may have had about the project and the cameras before camp were relieved when I got to hear the hearts of the Gray Media crew and the two camera men, Rekks and Trey. They have such a passion and heart for telling stories. They are just as much a part of the squad family as I am, and I am so thankful to be part of this amazing group of people!
So what does this change?
-I am now with a group of people that were selected not only from all over the country (and Canada) but from different squads. About a third of the group is original K squad. It has been amazing to see how God worked in individuals to bring us all together!
-I only know 9 of the 11 countries. They are: Guatemala, Nicaragua, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand/Burma, India, Nepal, Botswana, and Swaziland. We know we will have our last two months in Eastern Europe.

“The World Race documentary project is not about bringing the conveniences of the western world to the less fortunate. But it’s about sharing the power of global connection, contribution, and the inherent hope that comes from knowing that there’s a God that loves each and every one of us. ”
