Love deeply, hold loosely – that’s what we were told at training camp. I didn’t understand the depth of those words until I was wrapped in our host Naomi’s arms weeping. How do you say goodbye when you don’t know if you’ll see that person again? I’m still not sure. However, if you could look into my being, I guarantee you that there is a mark within. A mark seared by Indonesia, not because of its beauty or food, but its people. Indonesia, thank you for loving me well, and I hope I loved you just the same.

Cell groups were one of my favorite opportunities in Indonesia. It was a privilege to visit believers’ homes and just worship together. We became family!

And the food was AMAZING!

Is there anything better than the body worshipping? Ruth (on guitar), Gowin (on drums), and Sammy (singing) are three of the most wonderful human beings I’ve ever met.

I’m so honored to be part of such a great team!

We visited a local village to teach and spend time with the children there.

Jhon (our translator and friend) and Maurice (our host’s son) just enjoying Lake Toba.

The team, and teachers of a local school we visited and taught.

Nina and I conversing with students at a nearby university in Medan.

Our host, Pastor David, and his daughter, Hosanna.

My friend Sammy, who has the most beautiful heart. His testimony about how God gave him the gift to sing and play instruments is amazing.

Hanging out with the youth at our compound.

We got to visit Lake Toba, and it is gorgeous.

I also turned 27 in Indonesia, and was lucky to be surrounded these wonderful women.

And I have to end with the most beautiful girl in Indonesia, Hosanna. She fits her name perfectly!
