Hi friends, what a crazy two weeks it has been. We’ve seen beauty in all different forms, such as: waterfalls, beaches, dragon-fruit, mountains, coffee, and sweet families.

What vicky has really been up to:

Our host family brought us to chanthaburi, to serve at a day-care and repaint their playground equipment. Basically just being the extra hands and feet for them. We totally were digging it because we were able to swim at a BEAUTIFUL beach. Yes I did indeed shed a few tears #noshame

Mom has a farm next to where we live full of Cassava, which is used for cooking and for fuel (odd combination I know). We pulled the trees out of the ground for about 5 hours. It was tough, mostly because I have absolutely NO muscle. The next day we cut the cassava (potato looking things) off the roots of the trees and loaded them into a huge truck. Yes we did fill a truck full of it. Our host mother was able to sell the cassava and receive money to go towards adding cement around our church. Which the next day we helped mix, shovel, and lay the cement down. Lets just say it was a struggle pushing myself up out of bed the next morning. Our rest day was much needed.

Also, we found out we’re not spending a full 3 months in Thailand anymore. We’ll be moving to Cambodia for the month of November, due to sketchy visa stuff. I am in shock of all the unexpectedness the World Race has given us so far. I am super pumped for Cambodia, yet it’ll be a hard goodbye as we depart from our super great Thai family. God really does throw curveballs at us, but we’re learning to live knowing that God’s plan is THE plan.

I also bought a pretty sweet soccer ball in Chanthaburi for 13 USD. Not sure how its going to travel over countries… but we’re going with it.

We get weird stares almost everywhere we go because its so obvious we are foreigners. People still tend to think we speak thai and will have full on conversations as we continue to say “english, english”

oh yeah, I’ve been reading the Bible cover to cover, currently in 1 Samuel. I have definitely been learning who our Father is, and have been really understanding stories I never have before. God has totally been pointing out all of His promises to me through reading the Israelites being led out of Egypt. He truly is a God of promises.

I was able to share part of my testimony at church this past sunday, it was the biggest church attendance we’ve seen yet, so that was sweet. I shared about how the Lord had freed me from all the bondage I had become a slave to before I knew Him. It was pretty cool.

Lastly, we leave for debrief on Wednesday night. This is where we meet with our whole squad and talk about life the past 36 days. We’re staying in a hostel right on the beach, so you know I’m SUPER stoked for that. I think its safe to say, we’re all ready for the amazing fellowship and memories that are going to take place.

It really has been an amazing 36 days of life here in Thailand. The people are great, the coffee is good, and the memories are forever on our hearts.

Here’s to more days filled with rad adventures to come

till the sky splits,

Vicky (wicky)
