Hey friends, you’re reading my last blog post from Thailand. Happy two months, I’ve loved every second of life with you.
Oh Thailand
You have won my heart. You’ve given me love. You’ve given me great food. You’ve given me an abundance of smiles. You’ve given me some life-long friends. You have changed my heart forever.
If you were to ask me what I learned from Thailand, I’d probably say “I learned how to squat, and I’ve learned how to lay concrete.”
Then I’d say “just kidding…. not really though”
and you’d probably look at me funny and then I’d start to say something along the lines of how much my relationship with the Lord has been changed.
Before the Race, I was kind of just living while knowing God. I made God a thing that was just there everyday, it was a chore for me to spend time in the Word. The best part was that I thought I was bearing the most fruit I could, and that I was living fully for the Lord. Let me just tell you, that was a joke. Since being here in Thailand, God has shown me how to live with and to walk with Him. I’m weeding out the parts of my life that aren’t bearing fruit, and replacing them with parts of life that do bear fruit. It’s been sort of a journey to learn how to live with God, and to walk with Him. I haven’t quite conquered it, but I’m climbing to the top of that mountain daily. My eyes are set on the prize. Him.
I’ve learned that really anything can happen with this sort of unorganized life of mine. This weekend we woke up at 3:30 am, a very big struggle, to “hike” a mountain and look over this beautiful “sea of fog”. Although we dragged our feet, God really showed us His beauty. I must say that God has blessed this country with beautiful, mouth-dropping views. The next day we performed some skits, cinderella and doctor’s office skit, to about 45 students at a new school. They knew very little English, but were full of joy the whole day. I was even able to play soccer with about 5 of the older kids, it was a ball…#punny. After that we visited a dairy farm and saw a cow give birth to a precious baby calf, welcome to the world PJ.
Like I said, really anything can happen with this life I’m living. In the moment, my stress is at an all-time high because most of the time we have literally no idea what we’re doing next. It’s more of an “ok we’re here for whatever, use us in any way” and it always seems to end up being a great time because we make it a great time.

The “sea of fog” lookout. Early morning sunrises are too good.

these are my girls
All in all, this country has filled my heart with beautiful views, delicious food, and happiness. I wouldn’t trade those 3:30 wake up calls for anything. Not even Air Conditioning.
My team is leaving tonight to begin our journey to Cambodia. We’re taking a night bus to Bangkok to meet up with our whole squad and travel together to Cambodia. We’re not sure what our ministry is or where we’re going be. I am super pumped for what’s to come.
Please keep my squad and team in your prayers as we travel to Cambodia. Feel free to update me on YOUR life through email, I’d love to chat whenever I can. Email me at [email protected]
Life is rad and you guys rock,
Vicks
