Hey friends,
So some of the things we did this past month in a nut shell. We were staying at Hope Mountain with the lovely Dominguez family as our hosts. Their ministry was so cool, but what was even more amazing was their heart for their ministry. Guys it was so humbling to stay with them and see their family dynamics and just passion for the DR.
When we arrived the mom Vicki was in the states because she had not been feeling well. It was also rainy season. It was all squad month so all 42 were on the mountain. We did a lot of prayer walking and construction projects. We would work around the rain but everyone had good attitudes.
The day Mrs. Vicki got home though the rain stopped. It was crazy. She was such an amazing women and her heart for what we were doin was awesome the vision for the ministry going forward is to help rescue women and children trapped in sex trafficking. We were working on building more housing on the property. Guys when I tell you she has a vision it was so cool. A church they partner with in the states is getting ready to bring a group of professionals over to help train the 5 churches the Rueben the dad helps oversee to help coins and love the women. She is also training the women at different locations to make products like soap, bags and candles. These would then be sold at a store on the property which is on a main road between Santiago and Sosua. She would eventually want them to be sold in the states too. The women who would be living on the property would work in the store and eventually she would put a restaurant on the second story because the view of the mountains is incredible. ( I felt like I was living on a movie set) These women would gain skills to help them rebuild their lives in healthy enviroment.
Hope4DR was incredible. God is moving there. They had 2 daughters that are still in school and so I got to as part of my ministry help with school work. This meant I got to spend time with them and their awesome mom and sister a little bit more intentionally. They have no idea how much of a blessing it was for me to just be around a family. I miss the states a lot and internet goes so far but missing the kids and people I worked with as well as my own family was hard last month. God has such crazy plan tho and being in Jamaica now it is amazing how fast it felt like the DR went. I am on month 3 y’all but no worries man God is doin crazy good things.
Please keep them in your prayers. That God would keep providing and moving through their work in the DR.
