Personal reflection, has been something I have needed to do more of since I got home. I kind of avoided it. It is so easy to get distracred by technology or to do lists. But last night and last week I got reminded of the power of a Story.

There is something strong in the connection and power of a Story. Especially if it is something you or someone you know witnessed first hand. I think that is why the power of the gospel is so amazing. It’s Good News.  It is a story told by people who lived life alongside Jesus and encountered God.

In the Old Testament God is always telling the Isrealites to remember Him. Remember what He has done and to make ebenezars and mark dates to remember. We as humans so easily forget. Last week I got to reunite with a part of my squad and remember what God did over the last year. It was like a breath of fresh air. Then last night unplanner I got to share a little bit about my trip alongside my cousin Pastor Mike and talk about a miracle I witnessed in person.

Both of these things brought a jolt of life back into my choices and decisions. I hadn’t been super social over the holiday weeks and I had, not intentionally, isolated myself to a small bubble. I was being really productive with my stuff, sorting and dowbsizing, but spiritually I wasn’t really interacting with anyone other then my family. Getting to hear and tell stories of the last year was more encouraging then I realized last week.  I also concluded that I need to be more intentional with my time. I want to share the good things God has done and is doing in my life. I need to continue sharing the story. I need to remember and be encouraged and engaged in my life.

If you are feeling kinda down and lonely…20inches of snow headed our way this weekend. I want to challenge you to ask someone what God has been up to in their life. Or just ask how their days have been going?? Talking about and remembering the good things He has done or is currently doing can really brig a jolt of life back into our mundane.

Stories are uniquely powerful, maybe it has to do with the power of words, but I know it sure did change my perspective around.  Hope it can bring some encouragement into your winter as well.

** Also I might get voted off the North East team but I am so pumped about the snow!!!!**
