There are some moments on this journey that are really lonely. Then things and stuff in life just keep piling on and sometimes people are just down right mean. Someone said something to me that was so mean it was a character blow. A punch below the belt. These moments are so discouraging.
I got to this point where I felt like I was just giving and giving and giving and was completely deflated. Some people just want to be mean and hate on others. Usually this does not affect me but it kept on happening.
When I feel like this I just want to surround myself with people that love me and understand me… but they are across the world so the closest thing I had are the letters they wrote me before I left the State’s. So, I started to read the words from my loved ones and my sister Nicki wrote this in her letter to me! It was exactly what I needed. This was God’s little treat for me.
Below is a Poem written by Mother Teresa that my sister shared with me!
Anyway
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
