2 Corinthians 1:20-22 (MSG)
Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, putting his Yes within us. By his Spirit he has stamped us with his eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete.
I have been on this fundraising journey for almost 6 months now, and just reached $6,000! When I gave God my “yes” to The World Race, for the 3rd time, there was something that was different than all the other times I was going to follow through with my “yes” but didn’t. THIS TIME around, the price didn’t scare me, being away for 11 months didn’t scare me, the “what if’s” of each country didn’t scare me. Why you may ask? Because Jesus didn’t die on the cross just so that I would be scared, worried and have doubt.
My God is bigger than $18,000.
My God is bigger than any sickness or disease.
My God is bigger than any obstacle that get’s thrown my way, through my “yes” to Him!
This is the first time in my life where I had to rely on God, with my finances. He has not failed me! Through each step I take, He confirms it.
1. The job I went back to for the summer (boat house) was barely open, because of rain and broken pipes. My boss still paid me for those days I couldn’t go in. Ask and you shall receive. She also donated towards my trip at the end of the season. Meanwhile she is not a believer, and I got to witness to her about it.
2. I was crossed between going back to the church I grew up in, or the small church closest to me, where my parents go. I went back to the small church (Passion) and was given the opportunity to mentor young girls twice every month, on a Sunday. My bank may not be getting filled up, but I’m being filled up spiritually and mentally through those girls, and this church.
3. My new job at a furniture store has given me the opportunity to share my faith and my beliefs to my older co-workers. I’ve never been in a work environment where I’ve been able to share my faith in such depth, and have it well received back.
Bottom Line, the journey has been great. I get to share about this awesome opportunity every, single, day! I’m not afraid about not getting the money, because all of His promises are YES and AMEN!
