It all started while playing this peculiar game during team time at the local park in Cameron Highlands, Malaysia called “touch my body.”
(FYI: This game is actually appropriate for all ages, involves silly and creative individuals, blindfolds, awkward positions and laughter.)
While playing, people were curiously watching and without hesitation, approached us with questions about the game. It wasn’t long before we made a new friend, Farees, of the muslim faith. We met up again the next day and he came prepared with a game of his own. He had us sit in front if him and place our hands out with our palms facing up. He explained that he was going to tell us about our character just before he applied pressure with his index finger to each of our palms. One by one he spoke about each of us..Grace, myself, Christazia, Wade and Forrest. While what he stated was not entirely true, I found it humorous that when he spoke about Grace and I he found it necessary to state our inability to cook…. I speak for Grace in stating WE DO NOT RECEIVE THAT! (Or any of it for that matter) LOL
Afterwards, we asked for permission to pray and ask the Lord about words God has for us to share with Farees. He agreed and IT.WAS.BEAUTIFUL. It was such a great encouragement to the loneliness, insignificance and weakness he was experiencing. Wade had an opportunity to pray and declare words of confidence and strength in the Lord over him and Farees was moved. We enjoyed a few rounds of UNO before he shared an Indonesian game much like a real life fusbol game that took me a while to catch on to after attempting to tackle my opponent. During the end of our time in Cameron Highlands we were privileged to share testimonies with him of salvation, peace, purpose and healing.
We listened to him as he shared his Muslim faith in doing good works in an effort to outweigh the sin without guarantee to make it to a paradise. We shared our faith of our brokenness as sinners and our desperate need for a savior, Jesus Christ as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. We shared the beautiful display of love in the ransom he paid on our behalf that we may have relationship through Him with God the Father.
Please pray for Farees. He is alone in Malaysia and his family lives in Lombok, Indonesia where there was recently a significant earthquake. Pray for his family, the seeds planted, our continued communication via social media and for the Holy spirit to do what only He can do through the beautiful gospel of Jesus!

(Awesome time of sharing testimonies after a few rounds of UNO of course 😉

(Just being silly in the jungle…The might jungle)
