I must start by apologizing for this long stretch of time without updating you guys. So much has happened since leaving Spain but I have had quite the writer’s block and wrestling through some things with the Lord.

This blog is intended to briefly catch you up to the present. I am going to fast forward through to where we are currently and I will begin to share stories about the time missed starting mid September. I will share a weekly recap of each month of the year with you during the last 12 weeks before heading home. This will be a time of reflection on all that God has done in and through this journey

Our team spent 3 weeks in Croatia and it was a sweet time that I encountered the Father’s heart for me that I will share later. I didn’t really understand all that the Lord was doing in the middle of it but sometimes it’s not until were outside of a situation that we can articulate what actually happened. Following Croatia, we spent the month in Montenegro. Our alumni squad leaders left the field and Kate and I were privileged to step in as squad leaders after a time of training. It was a really busy time for us between all the training, debrief with the squad, as well as our squadmate, Alex, who was in the hospital. Her vertebrae was fractured in an unfortunate hiking accident. As a result, her mom ended up flying out to Montenegro for 3 weeks to be with her as she recovered quickly and safe enough to continue her journey on the race.

As we made our way through eastern Europe there were some quick stops along the way but God showed up and showed out through it all. In the beginning of July we had an incredible opportunity to live amongst refugees (from Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Sudan) in Indonesia. This was a very difficult goodbye for most of our squad and some of us who are currently still working through all the things we have heard, seen and experienced last month.
Please pray for us as we continue to move forward in the last 3 months of this race with perseverance, passion and love.?
