I like to sing.
I have always liked to sing. If you have known me for many years you may know this to be a fact. If you go to my church you may remember this shy little toothpick singing nervously in the sanctuary or fellowship hall on the rare occasion.
However, I did not like singing in public. I was and still am a bit shy and I would always get nervous if there was a large crowd. It only got worse when I stopped singing at the church. I would actually never sing that much in a car unless I was super close with you, or if it was a really good song, or if I knew you would sing with me.
Oh how the race changes you.
Worship is amazing and it is something that I have come to love with a passion that I have never known. Playing guitar has always been a dream of mine and over the past few months I have been blessed with the ability to buy a guitar and to play almost every month. I have had beautiful moments with God through worship and it is something that has changed my life.
This blog is not about that.
There is another side of singing that has blossomed while I have been on the race. Due to team changes, it has been allowed to grow and grow and thanks to my new singing partner, I have been able to find a new "talent" of silly song singing.
I would like to share one of many songs with you. This was during mini-debrief on a night that no one in the squad will forget: comedy night. Kaitlyn and I were set to open the show and I had an announcement that leads into my next blog. I do hope you enjoy.
(we had just eaten at a restaurant called Carnivore in Nairobi, Kenya – look it up – it may explain some of the lyrics)
