The blog hiatus is over!

It’s been two months and I’m ready to get back on the horse. Not literally, although I do love horseback riding!

Last we spoke, I just graduated college (WOO!!) and had fear coursing through my veins because of all the hype of beginning the goodbyes and raising amounts of money I could never fathom would be my responsibility. Good news, the fear as been lifted (thanks to an amazing time at Training Camp back in June) and being just $1,300 shy of meeting the $10,000 deadline!

Now Training Camp was a roller coaster. Although, there were definitely NOT any roller coasters there, my heart was full speed, front row, for the craziest 10-day adventure I have ever experienced.

Here are some highlights:

1. I met my Squad!!

(That’s all 30 people we will be traveling with from country to country)

2. My team is ALL girls!!

This smaller team of 5 ladies is who I will be doing ministry with in the first month or so. Meet them on the left of the screen!

3. We sweat, cried, hiked, and showered out of buckets together…

That’s some serious bonding!

4. God wrecked my heart

(For people we will meet, love, and share Jesus with)

5. Lastly, we ate… interestingly

Want to actually see it?? Here’s an awesome recap video that my teammate Tiara made!! Seriously, watch it.

Crazy right?! Well, that’s about the only word I have in my vocabulary lately: crazy. With all of the good and bad connotations included. Preparing to leave for a year is the real deal. It’s overwhelming and frustrating and the most exhilarating feeling all at once. The ‘see ya laters’ are tough because I am definitely not a fan of those. Yet, God has been there every step of the way. He is showing me how to embrace every moment, with all the emotions included. It is truly a gift to be walking with Him in this. Especially because I have seen and felt more support from all sorts of people to further His Kingdom.

Fundraising has been such a joy. No, I’m not sugar coating it. I love fundraising (I know, I’m weird)! But guys, God provides WAY MORE than we can imagine, as long as we are obedient, faithful, and disciplined with what we have and how we fund raise. Recently, I have seen so much financial support come through in a few different ways.

First, I have been posting on social media to ‘buy a box’ and there has been more than $1,370 that has come through from friends, family, and even strangers. The power of social media blows my mind. Also, this past Saturday, I held a yard sale at a friends house to sell almost everything I own plus some things that were donated and we earned over $320! Lastly, I have received some special gifts from individuals and companies that have added up to an additional $1,550 in the last few weeks.

It’s difficult to keep up with it all! I am only about $1,300 away from my current deadline (this Friday) of $10,000!!

(Disclaimer: July 19th is the last day to electronically support me in my efforts to reach this $10,000 because it takes a few days to show up on my online account)

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Please continue to read, follow, and support this incredible journey. We are all in it together!
