It’s that time again! Update.

A lot has happened in the last four weeks so here’s a snapshot:

I GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE!! WOO!

Also, I accepted an internship for the summer at Krochet Kids Intl. (a nonprofit in Newport Beach) that I am loving!!

On the World Race side of things.. I reached my first goal of $5,000 early! I am now looking towards a $10,000 deadline in mid-July! I am very grateful for the people that have been supporting me in SO many different ways. From the woman who has been allowing me to use her car for the past few months to the person who donated a MacBook to me (which I’m using as we speak)!! God has been so faithful through the most unexpected people. I say thank you to everyone because it really does take a village.

But man oh man, they do not kid-around when they say it is going to take a lot of prep to embark on this adventure! I have slowly been getting all my gear together while reading up on South America and doing my homework in regards to all the sicknesses we will have to protect ourselves from! Mentally, it is A LOT to handle but I am growing closer to my team (of 35 girls and guys) through it all.

Speaking of them.. I get to meet them ALL.. IN PERSON.. IN TWO WEEKS!! Training Camp. Georgia. Mid-hot-sweaty-humid-summer. Oh yeah! To say the least, I cannot wait to do some serious bonding back East with these amazing people that will become my family for the next year.

Now to make sense of the title.. Fear of the Unknown. Simply, my biggest fear. The past month I have been feeling more fearful of what the future holds. You would think that since I have a plan after graduation, I wouldn’t be afraid. Well, it has been quite the opposite for me and honestly, I haven’t really allowed myself to feel the weight of it until this past weekend at Women’s Retreat with my church. Through a lot of space, time away from reality, some serious prayer, accompanied by a few tears, God helped me with realizing I felt lonely and afraid. This is not an easy thing for me – I’m typically the one to rally the team and lead the pack to victory! Except, God was victorious because of the tears and brokenness. This constant reminder is a deep one.

On another note.. I’m very excited to celebrate my birthday tomorrow (the 24th) and move forward in getting to my next goal of $10,000!!

“Praises for Preschoolers”

(A section devoted to specific praises & a reminder of all the Preschoolers & families that support me)

This summer I have been IMMENSELY blessed by the Gibb’s family because they have made room for me in their house this summer!! They sought me out 4 years ago and I have loved walking with them as their friend, sister, daughter and supporter. Their three amazing children are the loves of my life and I am SO grateful I get to stay here with them and continue to prep for the Race!!

XOXO
