Whew! It's been a crazy couple weeks. I took a week off of work to help out at home. My mom had a spinal fusion surgery due to a ruptured disc that ruptured for the third time. She is doing well now, still struggling to keep her pain under control, but she's up and walking around! She's even walking without her walker for short periods. It's very encouraging, and I really hope she's back to normal by month 9 of my Race!

"Oh wait," you say, "what's so special about month 9?" Well, the day after my mom had her surgery, I got an email from Adventures in Missions telling us about a relatively new program they're starting called Parent Vision Trips. They just had them for a group of squads on the field now, and they were extremely successful! Basically it means that I get to invite my parents out for a week during month 9 to experience our ministry, World Race culture, and get an idea about what God's doing in our lives and in the lives of those we are serving! Month 9, as of now, is Nepal, so I'm very excited about the possibility of my parents getting to come! My mom was excited too, even though I had to tell her twice, since the first time she didn't remember (it's the drugs πŸ™‚ ).

I kept busy being nurse and homeschool mom for the week. From the time I was in highschool, I've felt that my ultimate calling is to be a wife, mother, and a homeschool mom! I was homeschooled myself, and I definitely appreciate the sacrifices my parents made to give me the best education for me! I want to give my kids the same thing. I've struggled to understand why I haven't been married with at least one kid by now. It's hard to wait for God's timing. But more and more lately, I've been thankful for His timing. Not just because of the World Race, but also because I've had a lot of time to learn and observe how to be a good wife and mother from my mom and from other women I respect and admire. And I definitely got to experience some good homeschooling tricks πŸ™‚ Let's just say that fractions and long division was not the favorite for a few different members of the Moss family…myself included! I've also been very thankful for all the time I've had to strengthen my relationship with my mom. Growing up, I considered myself a Daddy's girl, and lately I've been blessed to grow closer to my mom as well πŸ™‚

After a busy week, I then went down to Camp Seagull for a service weekend with the high school group I help chaperone. We set up for meals, served the food, then cleaned up, for about 500 people attending a Y Guides/Y Princesses weekend. Very busy! But we still had time to relax. Then last week I was at Camp Seafarer, which is Camp Seagull's sister camp, for one of our Track Out trips! We took a group of kids from our tracking out program at the Y for three days to enjoy all the things Camp Seafarer has to offer! It was a lot of fun, but I came home exhausted! And then Saturday, I got to go to my church's Respite Night, which is a fun night of free childcare for kids with special needs and their siblings. I got to hang out with my brother Josh, who also volunteered, and one of my all-time favorite kids. Ian brings so much joy to my life!

So as you can see, I have been busy, but had a very blessed two weeks. I'm all about making memories lately, and God keeps presenting situations where I can make them πŸ™‚ And to add to the blessings He is inundating me with, my second fundraising goal has been surpassed, with a good chunk of the remainder promised to me! When the promised amount hits my account, I will only have about $4,000 left to raise! Jehovah Jireh is truly amazing!!!
